によると、約3分の1のサメが絶滅の危機に瀕しています。サメは成長が遅く、成熟までに

時間がかかり、少ししか子供を生みません。サメを絶滅から救うため、協力してください。

Each year, about 100 million sharks are killed, mostly for their fins - for shark fin soup. Some shark species have declined by 90 percent. According to IUCN, one-third of sharks are threatened with extinction. Sharks mature slowly - take a long time to reach sexual maturity and bear few pups. Please don't buy shark fin soup. Please help save sharks from extinction.

※Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) was held in Qatar in March 2010. Proposals to restrict trade in eight shark species - spiny dogfish, porbeagle, oceanic whitetip, scalloped hammerhead, great hammerhead, smooth hammerhead, dusky and sandbar sharks - failed to receive the required two-thirds vote majority.
